SCHOOL COOKING
Our mission at Cook Bake Make is to introduce children to the joy of cooking, baking and making their own food in a fun, safe and engaging environment.
We offer hands-on kids cooking classes onsite at your school. Our classes are designed to inspire young chefs and teach them the art of cooking.
Along with the numeracy and literacy elements inherent in the cooking process, all of our sessions have a strong focus on collaboration, sharing and trying new things.
Sessions may be tailored to address particular curriculum.
Students of all ages can participate in school cooking classes.
We will tailor the menu to suit your onsite facilities.
Each class runs for 90 minutes, culminating in the students eating the food they have prepared.
TERM PROGRAMS
There are many ways to tailor a cooking program to run each term, whether it be for the whole school or only selected year levels, once a term or on a weekly schedule.
One program I have delivered for several years, is where each grade, from Prep to Grade 6, have one cooking session per term. We have a theme for the year (see Sample Menus) and build on skills learnt throughout the year.
Another option may be to have a weekly or monthly class for a smaller subset of the school community.
I am happy to discuss your ideas and come up with a tailored program to meet your goals.
ONE-OFF
CLASSES
One-off or ad-hoc cooking classes are a great way to tie in with a certain subject, curriculum objective or as a fun incursion activity.
You could make gyoza when studying Japanese language, damper when learning about our Australian pioneers or make gingerbread as the festive season approaches. The options are endless.
